Airport to Resort Transportation Services

Transportation to Big Sky Resort should be arranged prior to your visit.

Basecamp Adventures

  • Nature Zipline Tour: Soar through the trees on our guided 3-line Nature Zip Line tour.
  • Adventure Zipline Tour: A guided 4-line tour covering a mile of zipping length; reaching speeds up to 35 mph.
  • Guided High Ropes Course: Let our guides take you through more than 10 high rope elements at 30 feet up in the trees. Reserve 48 hours in advance  
  • Bungee Trampoline/Climbing Wall/Smoke Jumper Giant Swing: Bounce, jump, flip, climb & swing; fun for kids and adults alike. No reservation required. Tickets are sold at Basecamp in the plaza.
  • Guided Snowshoe Tour: Join a guide for an interpreted afternoon snowshoe tour on the Moose Tracks Trail on Lone Mountain.  Tour leaves basecamp daily at 1:15 pm. 

Kids’ Activities

  • Kid’s Club: Let us entertain the kids with various daily activities such as mask-making and treasure hunting.  Open daily from 4:00pm-6:00pm to children ages 4 and up. Kid’s Club is located in the Village Center. Call (406) 995-5557
  • I-Ranch Teen Room: Enjoy free Wi-Fi, foosball, ping pong, and video games. Open 7:00am-11:00pm daily in the Mountain Mall on the 2nd floor. Complimentary for all guests. Call (406) 995-5555 for information.
  • Rescue Dog Presentation: Come meet the furry friends of the Big Sky Resort Ski Patrol. The rescue dog presentation is at 5:00pm on Saturdays in front of Basecamp by the fire pit. Cost:  Complimentary for all guests.

Yurt / Snow Cat Dinner

Montana Dinner Yurt: Travel by snow cat to a heated yurt and enjoy a 3-course Montana dinner, live music, and a sled hill. Tour leaves at 6:30pm daily from the Summit Lodge.  Alcohol is BYOB.  Please inform us at time of reservation if you need gluten-free or vegetarian options. Dog Sledding

  • Spirit of the North Dog Sledding: Spirit of the North offers dog sledding in the Big Sky Area.  Learn to mush with amazing dogs. 2 hours trips at 9:30am & 1:00pm. Spirit of the North also offers dog sledding in West Yellowstone. Visit http://www.huskypower.com/ or call (406) 995-3424.
  • Yellowstone Dog Sled Adventures: Offers small group dog sled adventures providing an intimate experience that emphasizes interaction with our huskies and our surroundings.   Participants need to be some-what active and prepared for a winter outing into the mountains.  Due to the elevations and conditions where they offer tours- trips are not well-suited for sedentary or in-active people. Visit www.yellowstonedogsledadventures.com or call (406)223-5134.

Horseback Riding

Jake’s Horses: Come saddle up for a trail ride in the Big Sky area.  Rides range from one hour to a full day; all riding abilities are welcome. We have a wide variety of trails and rides to suit the tenderfoot or the experienced. For winter rides, wear ski clothes, the warmest boots you have, and don’t forget gloves and a hat. Sleigh Rides

320 Guest Ranch Sleigh Ride:  Escape to the 320 Guest Ranch for a night of true Montana hospitality!  Whether it is a romantic getaway, girls’ night out, or a need for some family fun, join us on a star-dotted sleigh ride along the Gallatin River pulled by the 320 Ranch Percheron draft horses. Lone Mountain Ranch Sleigh Ride Dinner: Dinner guests are transported on horse drawn sleighs to our remote North Fork cabin for a very special dinner cooked on an old fashioned wood-fired cook stove and great entertainment by local singer/songwriters.  A Montana-sized prime rib dinner is served family style in a room illuminated by kerosene lanterns and cowboy music round out an evening reminiscent of times long ago. Ice Skating

Nordic Skiing

Snowshoe Rentals & Trails

  • Big Sky Resort Snowshoe Rentals: Conveniently rent snowshoes from Big Sky Resort. Guided tours are available every day at 1:00pm.  (406) 995-5769 for more information.
  • Lone Mountain Ranch: The snowshoe trail system stands on its own outside of the Nordic trail system. The over 30 km of trails meander through the Ranch and can be toured alone, with friends or family or with a guide. Full moon snowshoe tours are also a favorite of guests and locals. 800-514-4644.

Winter Fly Fishing

Local Snowmobiling

West Yellowstone Snowmobiling

Rendezvous: Explore over 300 miles of groomed trails on Forest Service land next to Yellowstone National Park. See amazing views overlooking Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, Idaho and Montana. Trips to Yellowstone National Park

Even if you have been through Yellowstone Park a dozen times in the summer, Yellowstone’s unique winter environment should not be missed. Sit back and relax surrounded by winter wonders of Yellowstone and enjoy your snowmobile or snowcoach Yellowstone interpretive tour as you learn about everything from Yellowstone geology to wildlife to park history and the current issues affecting our nation’s first national park.  

Enjoy access to Yellowstone National Park’s snowy interior via the West Entrance: December 15 thru March 15. Snow coach and snowmobile access only, no cars. All snowmobile drivers must have a valid driver’s license.
